Calamity rides on Audible

Calamity rides on Audible.

I've got some big news for anyone who's ever wanted to hear Calamity Jane talk trash about spacemen: Crossroads Press and Actress and narrator Naomi Rose-Mock have brought Calamity Jane and her gunslinging Green Man to life on Audible.

I couldn't be happier with how the audiobook came out. Naomi was great to work with and even had a background playing the character in theatre productions. She does an amazing job capturing Jane in all her variations. And a few readers have messaged me on Facebook to say "And that's exactly what I would expect Calamity Jane to sound like. Nice."

Wether you’re new to this violent reimagining of a frontier legend and her alien gunslinger or have already followed them through the Wilder West, you’ll be thrilled listening to Calamity on audiobook. It's an amazing performance—available now on Audible.

(It's neat. You should like it.)

Calamity's gone global with a holiday bookplate rush!
Ironically, though, for everywhere except Wyoming.

Over 140 requests for bookplate across 36 states and four continents is pretty awesomes. I especially love the representation in Puerto Rico, Argentina, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Hungary, and Australia!

Empire Strikes Back BTS footage will make you feel like a kid again.
This is so very wonderful.

Not gonna lie: Seeing Luke in The Mandalorian finale got me all in my childhood feels. And this BTS footage keeps me there, watching my favorite heroes freeze and my forever princess glow.

Why Arrival is the best sci-fi movie of all time.
And, why can't my wife and I stop arguing about it?

Is Arrival the best of all time? I'm not sure. Is it among the best ever? Absolutely! Especially if reducing this jaded and skeptical watcher into a puddle of tears by the end is any metric of greatness. But Looper makes a pretty solid case...

Stan Lee (who doesn't curse) celebrates the art of cursing in this cute animated short.
A great man making a great case for a great word.

Using some archival VO recordings from the Marvel Comics legend in action, Kosperry and Aron Fromm bring to life his fondness for a short and equally emphatic so-called dirty word.
